my favorite stop for gifts

ever since i found the fragonard boutique several years ago, it has become a favorite stop for gift-buying and a place that clients love-- hardly any woman can enter without buying something. fragonard is a perfumerie that has been around since 1926 with factories in the south of france. they have great smelling soaps for 3.50 euros [my fave are the ones that say 'madame' and 'monsieur' on the back], natural scents for around 18 euros, embroidered travel 'pochettes' [check out the ones with the astrological signs on them in french] and pillow cases, etc. and the packaging is classic and refined but just a bit fun. my absolute favorite part of making a purchase here is the simple yet elegant way in which they quickly giftwrap it for you-- usually using two tones of simple tissue paper with their logo on a sticker. in all, gifts that guarantee an instant smile on anyone's face and utterly french. can't get enough of your favorite scent? check out their website-- they ship worldwide.

I heard that there is a shop in Paris that specializes in mixing custom fragrances for their customers. It's an extremely elegant shop with the purpose of creating personalized mix of scents for their clients. I'm looking for a name of the shop or email to contact. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It's called L'Artisan Parfumeur and it's located at 24 Blvd Raspail in the 6th on the left bank Métro: Rennes. My info says that it will create a signature scent for you... they also do bath stuff and home fragrances... bonne chance.

FYI--The big new l'Artisan Parfumeur boutique is the one that mixes fragrences-- not the one on blvd Raspail. It is located not far from the Louvre, on rue du Louvre.

I was in Paris last week and stumbled across an adorable boutique in the 18th arr. on a street off of rue la Vieville which had fantastic baby mobiles, children´s card board punch out animals, as well as other unique homewares. I´m looking for the name of the shop or the website. Any insight would be much appreciated.
